At our weekly rehearsals this month our Harmonics (also known as the CSM Junior Choir), Overtones and CSM Senior Choir groups practiced multi-part harmonizing, furthered our musical literacy learning new notation such as slurs, and focused on watching our Artistic Director’s conducting cues to be sure we shape the musical phrases and finish together, as a chorus.

At our weekly rehearsals this month our FUNdamentals singers worked on proper vowel pronunciation using silly songs that made us laugh, playing handbells with each player ringing his bell in tempo and on the right beat, and learning some initial choreography with props that will feature in our spring 2019 concerts.

We are excited to announce YCM’s program Singalong Storytime, a weekly English-led course for preschool children ages 3-6. Singalong Storytime is an enchanting mix of music and games, helping children begin to learn English while having fun! Every week, our little participants will discover a classic children’s storybook through reading, acting, dancing, singing, and even creating fun arts & crafts

What a great find at my hometown public library! Raising Musical Kids by Patrick Kavanaugh. Servant Publications, 1995.
